Early and Mid Career Researchers Network

A space for Early and Mid Career Researchers (EMCRs) in cancer in Wales to connect with each other, to share knowledge and learning opportunities across institutions

Join our new network for Early and Mid Career Researchers

If you are an early or mid-career cancer researcher based at a university or NHS body in Wales, please join the Wales Cancer Research Centre’s newly established EMCR network, where we hope to bring clinical and non-clinical cancer researchers together to build collaborations across the field, develop a supportive community and provide a series of training events.

If you would like to get involved with the direction of this new initiative or have any suggestions/queries regarding these events please contact Dr Helen Pearson (WCRC, Associate Director).

Please note, if you aren’t sure if you are an early or mid-career researcher, or would like to come along regardless, please sign up!

The next meeting will take place on 22 January 2026 14:00-16:00 online

Register below, or email wcrc@cardiff.ac.uk if you have any questions.

The EMCR Cancer Network Cymru Mentoring Scheme is now live! Would you like to be mentored, or be a mentor? If you are a researcher based at a university or NHS body in Wales and would like to gain experience in mentoring, or would like the support of a mentor, please fill in this form to sign up.  You will then be matched with a mentor/mentee. The EMCR Committee have created guidance documents which will be available for you to steer your mentoring journey. The form will be closed on 31st December 2025, and matching will take place in the new year.
